Business internet connectivity

Your business relies heavily on your connection to the outside world so don't just live with dodgy Wi-Fi

We supply, monitor and maintain a wide range of connectivity options for your business. Read more on each section below

Lease Lines

Whilst the number of of new leased lines installations for our customers are slowing down due to an increased availability in other high speed technologies like FTTP (fibre to the premises) a lease line may still be needed. If you're in an area with poor connectivity or you require a higher level of service offered by different technologies. A lease line is a dedicated internet connection for business that has different guarantees surrounding the speed of uploads and downloads, uptime and resilience.

There are a few different types of leased lines including full fibre, Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) and Ethernet over FTTC (EoFFTC). We know all of this is techy and confusing but don't worry, we're on hand to ensure you get the best connection for your business.

Fibre to the 'X' - FTTP & FTTC

Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) or Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) are typically what you would think of as a normal internet connection you would have in your business and also at home. However, there are some big differences between the two.

FTTP is far superior to FTTC as the connection comprises of a fibre optic cable being installed directly into your building. This means the speeds available are much higher. FTTP connections are capable of reaching 1Gbps (gigabits per second) compared to the generally available speeds of around 80 Mbps (megabits per second) that FTTC connections can handle.

Whilst the availability of FTTP connections are increasing it's unfortunately not available in all areas so you may be limited to an FTTC connection.

4G/5G Connections

4G / 5G connections have a number of use cases. We will typically use them in emergency situations to restore connectivity for a business that has lost connection and will be offline for some time. These kinds of events can be caused by damage to a local exchange, a car taking out a roadside cabinet or an act of nature taking down connections.

They are also widely used as automatic failovers or when businesses are moving locations and need an internet connection up and running quickly before a traditional connection is installed.

A 4G service can be activated in 10-15 minutes unlike a normal connection that typically takes a minimum of 10 working days to be installed.

They are also great for rural locations or areas that do not have other high speed products available. Some examples are customers that only have access to ADSL connections with speeds of 2Mb. If that area has a strong 4G coverage switching to a 4G/5G connection could provide a signifcant increase in speed.

VoIP Solutions

Voice over IP solutions are the modern way to conduct phone calls. Businesses are no longer reliant on physical connections to a building to make and receieve calls as they can all be made over the internet. This provides maximum flexibility are you can quite literally pick up your desk phone, take it somewhere else and connect it back to the internet and it will work exactly the same regardless of where you are.

Soft phones (software running on laptops, desktops and smart phones) can also be used with VoIP so you can get rid of that big bulky phone on your desk and just use your every day devices as your business phone.

If you're using Microsoft Teams for video meetings and/or internal chats you can also use Ms Teams as your main telephone system (just like we do). This allows your staff to use the same technology throughout their day to day operations.

All VoIP solutions will allow you to create hunt groups, call queues, music on hold, call recording options and many more features.... Oh and we forgot to mention they are much much cheaper than traditional phones lines.

Managed Wi-Fi

Are you sick and tired of your wireless connections dropping out during the day? Are you getting kicked out of important online meetings or stuttering at the worst possible times?

Our managed Wi-Fi solutions will help cure all of this and increase the perfomance and coverage of your wireless connections.

We start by conducting a site survey and highlighting key areas that require optimal coverage, detect any black spots and then plan a full wireless solution for you. This could be as simple as a single wireless access point installation or a multi-device network plan with a mesh style network. Regardless of the number of wireless access points installed we will also install a cloud controller.

This tiny piece of equipment sits on your network and constantly monitors and controls the wireless access points on site. It will show all connected devices, statistics about their traffic, how strong their signal strength is and automatically move them from one access point to another to ensure optimal performance.

We can also enable secure guest networks to keep guests off your coporate network, apply security updates, create maintenance windows to restart wireless access points and email alerts where required.

If you're Wi-Fi is driving you round the bend get in touch today to arrange a no-obligation wireless survey.
